District impact notes
The Protecting America’s Seniors’ Access to Care Act prohibits the enforcement of minimum staffing standards for nurses in long-term care facilities under Medicare and Medicaid. • This policy could affect local long-term care facilities and their ability to meet staffing requirements. • It may also influence the quality of care provided to seniors and individuals with disabilities in the district. • A potential concern is how the lack of enforced staffing standards might impact the overall quality of care and oversight in these facilities.
