The Keep WIC Working Act provides funding to support the WIC program during funding gaps in fiscal year 2026. • This could help ensure that local low-income women, infants, and children continue to receive nutrition assistance and education. • Local agencies that administer WIC may benefit from reimbursement for funds used to maintain operations during funding lapses. • There may be questions about how quickly the funding can be implemented and whether it will adequately meet the needs of all eligible participants.
